Financial aid

Financial supports are available to help eligible students who would like to go abroad for an exchange or an internship.

Make sure that you have enough financial resources before you leave. Even if you are eligible for one or more grants or bursaries, the money may not be transferred to you until several months after you leave France.

This delay is due to the financial and administrative processing of your application. Therefore, you must make sure that you have enough money available both prior to and when you arrive in the country to pay for costs such as your travel, housing deposit and rent, as well as public transport, food shopping, books and monthly bills such as electricity and water.

Applying

Applications for Ministerial aid are made through the International office's online application form for international mobilities. When you fill out the form, you must select that you will receive a CROUS bursary during your international mobility so that your request will be automatically taken into account.

Please only fill in one mobility application.

For example:

Don't forget to specify in your application form that you will receive a CROUS bursary even if you have not yet received the official response from CROUS. If it is confirmed that you will receive a CROUS bursary, you must upload the official bursary statement as soon as you have received it. Students who are going abroad to complete an internship must also upload their internship contract to their account. If you do not upload this document your request will not be considered.

Submission deadline

Your request for ministerial aid will be treated at the same time as your mobility file for studies/internship.

Amount

The amount can depend on several factors:

Franco-German University scholarship

The Franco-German University mobility bursary (Aide à la mobilité de l'Université Franco-Allemande - UFA) is aimed at French and international degree-seeking students who are studying a cursus intégrés programme between the uB and the Johannes Gutenberg-Universität Mainz or University of Opole in Poland, with the exception of those studying at bachelor and master level in cooperation with the University of Bologna.

The Franco-German University scholarship grants each chosen student, who studies in Mainz and also in Opole in the frame of Europa Master programme, 300 euros each month for a maximum of 10 months.

Other possible bursaries and grants

Aside from the bursaries already listed, you can do your own research to find other financial sources for your period abroad.

Examples

If you are going to be receiving another bursary which is not an Erasmus+ grant, Ministerial aid or the Regional council of Burgundy-Franche-Comté's bursary, you must check that the bursary in question can be combined with the other bursaries that you will receive.
